My Maggie February

Cuz they paint the town red with spilt blood

In my mind, February = Valentine's Day, and each year my February playlist ends up being a mash up of how I feel about love (which I love). My friends and I have been talking about our soul ages, like how we feel on the inside. And if you need any evidence that 17 is truly my soul age, listen to my Valentine's playlists over the years.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm leaning towards bad.

In 2013, I introduced the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. It's still my favorite alter ego and still my favorite type of music, but luckily I've learned over the years that that kind of girl sucks.

Moving on: 2014. The edge, the irrational continues, but I stand by some of the more heartfelt sentiments--especially Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere. It is the truest love song in my heart. And surprise, surprise I fell for it at age 17.

2015: I mean, this playlist is full of Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, One Direction, and a song called Teenager in Love.

This year's playlist throws back a little more towards the MPDG of 2013, but I don't apologize for that. The way this music makes me feel is how I want to feel while dating and falling in love. I'm just hoping to find someone who makes me feel that way too!

And here's the real Lauryn Hill song, which I WILL dance to at my wedding:
