Dear Family,
I am trying to write my history, but quite often get side tracked on
subjects that most people neglect.
This morning my wife, Marilyn, asked why it took me so long to come to bed
last night. I explained that I wrote a little essay on "Manure." She asked
why I felt inspired to make my first essay on manure? I told her it wasn't
my first, that I had previously written one on horses. She said, "Good,
first things first!!!"
That's my Marilyn!
ENJOY!

murder and ex-boyfriends
I'm a very vivid dreamer. They all feel so real to me. The last two nights produced two very disturbing dreams:
Saturday night I dreamt that I murdered a random person (a road rage thing) and tried to bury the evidence at a lake, but I didn't do a good job. The sad thing is that I was super scared about being caught. I watched the crime investigators analyze the crime scene and stop every passing person to do DNA tests. I knew I left my DNA at the scene and as soon as they tested me they would have me. There was only one way out of the lake resort where I was and that meant that I would eventually have to pass by the crime scene. I worried that the friends I was with would notice how nervous I was and how often I looked over at the crime scene.
Sunday night I dreamt about two ex-boyfriends. One I was getting back together with and the other was engaged to some mean girl who in my dream was soooooo rude and mean to me. And my heart was broken that he was marrying her. ugh. Why do I even waste a second of my glorious sleep time on stupid boys?
sometimes I hate dreams

Memory Tag!
This is a fun tag that allows me to share with all my friends meaningful memories we've had together! I think it looks fun!
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
Thanks guys!

The 4th of July weekend consisted of a wild weekend in Idaho Falls with a bunch of friends. It was a blast! Here is a pic of Steve, Holly, and me on the way up to Idaho.

We got to Idaho Falls much later than we planned so we missed the "Baker Bash" that our friend Lucas' family puts on the night before the 4th. But the next morning we met up and attended a flag raising ceremony and then went to the parade. It was interesting...

Afterwards we went to Ryan's house to play some outdoor games and then went back to Lucas' for his family's barbeque. Lucas ' family has 4 boys and only 1 girl and there were also lots of boy cousins and friends so Holly and I felt unusually outnumbered.

This is a pic taken of the garden in Lucas' backyard. Pretty huh?

Saturday morning we went boating and it was so relaxing and fun! After a day out on the lake we finished the trip with a stop at Smitty's --famous for their great breakfasts! It was such a fun trip !

GREat!

Although it may appear that I am fully participating in the 2008 Summer of Fun...I would like to take a moment to reflect on the "serious" side of my summer so far.
I have become a slave of the GRE.
I'm taking a prep course that is reteaching me all the math and stuff I learned in 8th and 9th grade. It's literally been 10 years since I've done this stuff, and seriously I pretty much cheated my way through those classes anyway. Thanks to all those great friends of mine that let me copy your homework! So far the class is going very well and I feel like I am learning A LOT.
The very first day of this GRE prep course we sat down and took the GRE. I mean we TOOK THE GRE!! Talk about nerve racking! I had NO IDEA what I was getting myself into! I hadn't done a math problem in forever and I was sitting there in the computer lab counting on my fingers and hoping no one was looking at me!
Amazingly I kind of did ok! I'm going to be real honest here and report my scores and also my goals so that I can be held accountable.
June 28: Diagnostic Exam
Verbal: 490 (57 percentile)
Quantitative: 570 (46 percentile)
Total: 1060
(I didn't take the Writing portion)
Here are my goals:
August 9: The real thing!
Verbal: 600 (out of 800)
Quantitative: 650 (out of 800)
Total: 1250 (out of 1600)
Writing 5.5 (out of 6)
I choose these goals because I think they are attainable and also because BYU posts the average scores of the students who got accepted into the Art History program.
average verbal: 596.43
average quantitative: 597.86
average writing: 5.02
I'm not exactly sure why I posted all this! Sorry I know its boring! Stay tuned to find out how I do! Also stay tuned for fun pictures of my 4th of July weekend!
