Funny Story (I hope!)

**DISCLAIMER** To my two friends who this story involves- I hope you are not offended- I'm posting this out of love and to let you know that I'm thinking of you.

I was at Costco today with my sisters, and I was shopping for a dinner that I'm planning on making next Sunday. Usually a bunch of us get together for Sunday dinner and we can eat A LOT. Well I told Jordan that one of my friends is sooooo tiny yet she can eat sooooo much. Jordan responded, "Oh! Sheryl will be there?"
I laughed because Sheryl is in New York but she had eaten with me at Jordan's house before and let's face it...she sure liked those rolls my sister made.
I responded, "No this is my friend Laura. She holds a record of eating for 2 1/2 hours straight at Tucano's"
So I guess I have a couple of friends that meet that description.

This is THE Valentine's Day movie

Guys I'm telling you...this is it. If you are to see any movie this Valentine's Day, this is the one to see. This is a french film with english subtitles and it's not your everyday sappy, love movie. It totally throws you for a loop. Without saying too much, this movie is split into three parts: 1) The girl's perspective of their relationship and 2) the man's perspective and 3) how it all comes together at the end. I've seen this movie three times and I would own it if I had money. You can check it out at the Orem public Library for $1 or I've gotten it at blockbuster before too. This movie is so smart and might leave you feeling a little strange. It might even make you more grateful for the relationship you have with your significant other!

Some things I've been thinking about...

1) I'm excited for Mitt Romney that he won the Michigan Primary. I have to watch some news show every night to see how the race is going. It's really important to me to watch the debates and form my own opinions. It's all very interesting.

2) I finally have my dream student job and I've had to work really hard for it. I'm now a student registrar at the BYU Museum of Art. I do the behind the scenes work with the art including transporting artwork to where ever it needs to go, doing condition reports, and entering data on our computerized data system. I also help out in the print study room where people can come to look more closely at a piece of artwork. Yesterday I traveled to the Salt Lake Temple to do some work on a painting we have on loan there. It was a really cool experience.

3) I have two internship applications in to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art, both in New York. I have about 6 more to send out to New York, Washington D.C. and Kansas City. I'm hoping I'll get accepted to a decently paid internship! If not I'll stay in Provo and work at the museum here and take classes.

4) About a week and a half ago my sister Jordan and her family were in Sacrament Meeting in Lehi when a sister in their ward (and the visiting teacher/close friend of Jordan) was killed in the parking lot as she was walking into church with her mother. Kristy and her husband were separated and had a horrible relationship and he tracked her down and shot her 8 times in the church parking lot. Many people witnessed it. It was a horrifying experience and I can't believe it happened the way it did. It really shook me up to think that this happened in my sister's neighborhood, just outside the building where they were. The thought has crossed my mind, "What if he went inside the church and just started shooting?" Jordan and Mike went to the funeral and they said that the main message was forgiveness. I suppose that is right but it's not easy.

5) One more thing. I totally recommend this on-line textbook selling vendor called half.com I bought most of my textbooks there for a fraction of the price and BYU buys them back. In my experience I got the same amount of money back! BLING! Also like 2 days ago I posted for sale some old textbooks that my roommate gave to me and I've already made a sale!

This is a quick shout out to my friend Severine, from Berlin Germany. She was an exchange student who lived with my family when I was a sophomore in High School. She's the greatest girl, so funny, smart, and patient. She put up with A LOT living with us! Her mother passed away recently and everytime I see this picture pop up on my screen saver I feel my heart tug. I visited Severine in Berlin a few years ago and her family is so wonderful. Her father took us around the whole city and took candid black and white photographs of me and my friends. We felt like super models! He developed them over night and had them ready for us before we got on the train the next morning to go back to Paris. During our time there, we had a lovely brunch with Severine's mom and dad. Severine's mother always sent me beautiful gifts which was so completely wonderful of her. She will be missed!

2008 is my lucky number!

New Year's Eve was a PARTAY sista style.
We got all dressed up then went to P.F. Chang's for dinner. Watched High School Musical and learned the dances, watched the ball drop and then watched one of my favorite French flicks. We had all the good party favors and it took us about an hour to realize those crazy blow roll up things make noise! After complaining that our blow horns didn't work, we about died of laughter when we realized we weren't blowing hard enough!

1) familiarized myself with the TRAX system in Downtown Salt Lake.

2) Absolutely loved the lights on Temple Square. These were taken the night of my former mission companion's wedding reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building

3) Decorated our tree with
Holly and Janell. It was so cute!
