This year a small group of us gathered between the Washington Monument and the WWII Memorial- about as close as you can get to where they shoot off the fireworks. We ate far too many trader joe's treats, listened to some live music, then enjoyed the blasts right above our heads. And got ash rained on us.

Love street performers who actually have talent and a unique concept like this band of men and boys who mostly play the trombone. There's a tuba and drum set too!

I'm so jealous of you - spending the 4th (and everyday of your life!) in the nation's capitol! I'm so excited to be moving close by!
